Right now, I'm halfway through an amazing course by Anne Helmstadter, and I had to tell you about this one particular module that has my creative brain doing cartwheels:

 

📝 The 8 Hollywood Story Elements — consider this the ultimate story checklist for all your favorite movies and novels. Here's a little peek:

The Flawed Protagonist – Give me alllll the messy, beautiful humans we can root for.

Main Desire – What does our hero or heroine desperately want? (Besides each other, of course 😏)

Worthy Antagonist – Because a strong villain or challenge makes for a stronger love story!

Lots of Conflict – Oh yes. Bring on the tension—whether it’s enemies-to-lovers or forbidden love!

High Stakes – If they fail, the consequences must hurt. Think heart-shattering, not just inconvenient.

Setting With Purpose – Yes, even that rainy rooftop kiss scene has to mean something.

Theme – The emotional soul of the story. (Swoons are great, but give me feels that linger.)

The Twist – That little spark that turns a familiar story into YOUR story.
